Kevin Buckley has represented Artificial Intelligence (AI) clients since 2013. His first AI clients were neuroscientists from UC San Diego who developed an unsupervised machine learning algorithm for consumer products. He has since represented clients developing Artificial Neural Networks (Convolutional Neural Networks, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, machine translation, and medical diagnosis algorithms) and has helped advance the field of medical diagnostics.
He has also been in-house counsel with a medical device startup where he handled all IP aspects related to the first FDA-cleared device for AI-enhanced Computer-Aided Detection (CAD or "CADe") and Computer-Aided Diagnosis ("CADx") software to detect cancerous anomalies in a mammogram.
